Schanke is, by normal standards, a fairly generic German-style brewpub. It’s cavernous inside, and only offers 3 or 4 German style beers that don’t rotate. If you want a classic Pilsner, wheat, or “dark beer” then you cane come here for them. Prices are high compared to the quality and complexity of the beer being offered. The food menu is not distinctly German, but they do have delicious soft pretzels. If you come here and don’t the pretzels you missed the best part of the place.
