Tsingtao Beer Museum

On the one hand, calling it “craft” isn’t quite accurate.  On the other, you can’t really go to Qingdao looking for beer without stopping in here.  This is where German style brewing got its start in China, and the old brewing facility has been turned into a weird steampunk beer museum.  There is even a holographic brewmaster in one of the rooms.  As you work your way through, you also get a view into the modern Tsingtao productionn facility.

In addition to the museum and self-guided tour, there is the only place you can have Tsingtao unfiltered.  Honestly, it’s surprisingly good.  At the end of the museum tour there is an expansive pub serving up sausages and pretzels, plus some Tsingtao offerings you’ll might not find anywhere else, such as their stout and IPA.
